Adult Day Care FAQs

Quick answers to the most common questions — simple, friendly, and to the point.

What is adult day care?
Adult day care is a daytime program with social activities, light exercise, meals, and gentle support. It helps guests stay active and connected while caregivers get reliable daytime coverage.
Who is it for?
Adults who enjoy company and could benefit from light structure — including those with memory changes, mobility limits, intellectual disability, vision impairment, or just a need for more social time.
What are the benefits?
Companionship, safe routines, and meaningful activities for guests — plus peace of mind and respite for families. Many people sleep better, feel less lonely, and look forward to their “club” days.
How often can someone attend?
Totally flexible. Some guests visit 2–3 days a week; others prefer more. We’ll help you choose a schedule that fits your life and budget.
What support do you provide?
Gentle assistance with reminders, trained staff (director, RN, aides), snacks/meals (breakfast, lunch, and a PM snack), restroom support, and activities. We’re a social, daytime program (not a medical clinic) and partner with families to keep everyone safe, engaged, and comfortable.
Is transportation available?
Yes! Door-to-door transportation options are available for all clients within Philadelphia. HCBS waiver participants are eligible for free transportation services!
How much does it cost? Is there help paying?
Services are free for HCBS waiver participants and veterans! For all other families, private pay rates are available.
Can we try a day first?
Yes — many families start with a tour. Come visit us and see if Penn Village feels right.
